Welcome to the Latin America Regional Section of the IASC!

Latin America, home to a wide diversity of commons spanning multiple ecosystems, has experienced the emergence of a range of innovative governance arrangements supported by social movements, practitioners, policy makers and researcher to facilitate local management of common pool resources. From its inception, the IASC has been active in the region to document and support these processes. The region has hosted two of IASC global conferences (Oaxaca 2004 and Lima 2019), and regional members are interested in organizing additional local events supporting other actives.  If you have questions or suggestions, contact the regional coordinator Peter Cronkleton.
